We bite

  1. I can't even watch them play daily because of my stupid living location. But this is at the point I may be thankful I can't see them. "Bunch of bums," (every male Petzold ever the last 60 years talking about the Phillies).

  2. Okay "High Hopes" folks...it's time to wake up. Are we a bunch of front runners on here, or what? Was this blog something created out of the excitement of a World Series only to be forgotten when the reality of a tough baseball season sets in? Are we a bunch of fair weather fans? When things are going bad, that's when we need to talk it up the most. I'm tired of coming on here after losses to see nothing. Have we given up? (Cam, I thought we needed a pep talk).

I had a good night - I finally finished my work bench! That also means I was able to watch the entire Phillies game in the process (Kelley doesn't mind me watching the game when I'm being productive :). Here are my 42 cents on the game...

This loss was not nearly as bad as most of the others over the past two weeks. Howard's ground rule double easily scores Utley. Vic was completely robbed on two hits because they hit the pitcher - one of them happened right before Utley's home run. Werth hit a an outright bee-bee to Chipper Jones for that double play. I know, all part of the game, but this loss didn't feel like they gave it away.

On the other side of that coin, though, we do have some places that were pathetic tonight. 1) Rollins. If he is on base once or twice tonight, chances are he scores and we don't go extras. HIs last strikeout was just aweful. Madson - what the hell is up with this guy? And Park/Bako - I'd love to know who called that last pitch (and if it was Bako, why Park didn't call him off). They had two strikes and a base open - no way he should throw a fastball there. Someone needs a talking to on that.
